The 2018 Kennedy Half Dollar (Buy on eBay) was not released for general circulation, but only offered by the United States Mint within numismatic products. This included circulating quality versions, as well as Proof versions struck in the standard composition or 90% silver.
On March 20, 2018, the United States Mint began accepting orders for bags and rolls of circulating quality 2018 Kennedy Half Dollars struck at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. The product options included 200-coin bags from either mint facility priced at $139.95 or a two-roll set containing one roll from each mint priced at $32.95.
During the year, other numismatic products were released which contained the half dollars. The 2018 Uncirculated Mint Set featured Uncirculated versions of the coins struck at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. The 2018 Proof Set included the Proof half dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint in standard composition. The 2018 Silver Proof Set included a 90% silver version of the half dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint.
The United States Mint reported circulation strike 2018 Kennedy Half Dollar production of 4,800,000 pieces at the Philadelphia Mint and 6,100,000 pieces at the Denver Mint. This represented the highest overall production since 2001.
